    The problem

Expression lines don’t appear by accident.

    • Smile.
    • Squint at a screen.
    • Raise your eyebrows.
    • Frown at something you didn’t like.

Your face makes these movements thousands of times a day, and every time it does, skin folds in the same four or five places.

Take a piece of paper and fold it once. Let go and it mostly springs back.

Fold it in the same place a thousand times and it stops springing back. Now there’s a crease, and the crease is there whether you’re folding it or not.

Three frames of hands folding a sheet of paper: flat, folded, then opened again with the crease still in it

That’s a wrinkle. Your face has been folding in the same four places your whole life.

Standard skincare works on the paper. Softer, smoother, better condition.

Nothing works on the folds themselves.

    • Forehead lines The horizontal ones. Every raised eyebrow.
    • The 11s Between the brows. Concentration, squinting, sunlight.
    • Crow’s feet Outer corners of the eyes. Every real smile you’ve ever had.
    • Smile lines Around the mouth and outer cheek.

    The gap

The fold only ever had one answer. Now it has two.

Look at what’s already on your bathroom counter.

A moisturizer, working on surface hydration. A retinol, working on cell turnover and texture. A vitamin C, working on sun and pollution damage.

All three are real. All three do what they say.

And none of them is aimed at the muscle that’s causing the wrinkle.

Because underneath every expression line is a muscle that pulls, thousands of times a day, folding the same piece of skin in the same place. That’s the fold. That’s the fourth target.

Cross section of skin showing surface, upper layers and the muscle, with vitamin C, moisturizer and retinol reaching only the top two layers

Three of these are covered by products you probably already own. The fourth is the one that makes the fold.

Only one thing has ever been aimed at the muscle, and it isn’t a serum.

A clinic. An appointment. A needle in your forehead every few months.

A woman lying back in a treatment chair while a gloved clinician injects the muscle above her brow
The existing answer · in-office injection, every few months

It works. That’s why people do it. But for a lot of people it’s a trade they’ve decided they don’t want to make, and until recently there was nothing else pointed at the muscle at all.

    Now there’s a second answer.

A serum you apply twice a day, at home, that works on the muscle side of the problem. No needles. No appointments. No waiting room.

A REFINE Peptide Expression Line Serum bottle beside a close-up of an eye with crow's feet
The second answer · at home, twice a day

And nothing gets frozen or plastic.

Nothing is paralyzed. Nothing about your face stops working the way it does now. You keep every expression you have. What changes, gradually, is how deep a crease each one leaves behind.

    Where it came from

It started with a snake that stops muscles from moving.

Scientific plate: Tropidolaemus wagleri with the SYN-AKE peptide structure

In the forests of Southeast Asia there is a snake called the temple viper.

Its venom contains a peptide called Waglerin-1. Waglerin-1 works by binding to the receiver that tells a muscle to contract. When it binds, the muscle stops moving without causing any damage to any part of the body.

Researchers looked at that peptide and asked a narrow question. Not how to use the venom. How to isolate the one short sequence responsible for that activity, and leave everything else behind.

They found it. Then they built it in a lab.

The result is SYN-AKE®, developed by Pentapharm in Switzerland and now produced by DSM. A synthetic peptide, under 500 daltons, small enough to move through the outer layer of skin.

There is no snake venom in this bottle.

There never was. No venom, no toxin, no animal source. SYN-AKE® is a lab-synthesized peptide modeled on one sequence from it, at a cosmetic concentration, on the surface of your skin.

One sequence. One receiver. One very specific job.

The temple viper takes its name from the Snake Temple in Penang, Malaysia, where the species has been part of the site for generations.

    The mechanism

It works on the signal. Not just the surface.

Your facial muscles contract on a signal.

A nerve sends the signal. It lands on a receiving site on the muscle. It tells the muscle to pull, and the skin above it folds.

Every muscle has a limited number of those receiving sites.

SYN-AKE® was designed to block them.

Fewer open sites, less signal getting through.

    Without the peptide

    Receiving sites on the muscle

    Full pull. Deep fold.

    With 4% SYN-AKE®

    Receiving sites on the muscle

    Less pull. Less fold.

The muscle still contracts. It just contracts with less force, so the same expression leaves a shallower crease behind.

Not all of them. That’s the part that matters. Some sites stay open, which is why your face keeps doing everything it does now.

You keep every expression you have. The line it leaves gets softer and less visible.

This is a cosmetic serum applied to the surface of your skin. It is not a medical procedure and it doesn’t work like one. Nothing is paralyzed, nothing is frozen, nothing is permanent. The effect builds while you use it and fades gradually when you stop.

    The payoff

Soften the line. Help keep it from getting deeper.

Expression lines get deeper through repetition. The same muscle contracts. The same skin creases. The same line gets folded again and again.

By reducing the repeated pull behind that crease, SYN-AKE® helps reduce the repeated creasing that can make the line deeper over time.

So REFINE doesn’t only help soften the expression lines you already have. It also helps reduce the repeated creasing that keeps reinforcing those same lines.

    Today

Improve the line you see today.

    Tomorrow

Help keep it from becoming a deeper crease tomorrow.

How the receptor interaction actually works

Muscle contraction begins when a nerve releases acetylcholine into the gap between the nerve ending and the muscle. The acetylcholine binds to a nicotinic acetylcholine receptor on the muscle side, and the muscle responds.

SYN-AKE® acts on the muscle side of that gap. In model systems it competes with acetylcholine for that receptor site and occupies it reversibly, so a smaller proportion of the signal produces a full-strength response.

That is a different point of action from peptides such as acetyl hexapeptide-8, which work on the nerve side by interfering with the machinery that releases acetylcholine in the first place. Same outcome sought, opposite end of the junction.

Regenyx does not claim medical neuromuscular effects. This mechanism is the biologically plausible explanation for the smoothing measured in ingredient-level studies, which is exactly what it is.

Can a peptide even get through skin?

Fair question, and for a lot of peptide products the honest answer is no.

Think of the outer layer of your skin as a screen door. Small things pass through, bigger things stay outside. That’s the entire job of that layer and it is very good at it.

Most peptides are too big for the mesh. They sit on the surface, do nothing, and get washed off.

The working threshold is generally put around 500 daltons, which is a measure of molecular size. SYN-AKE® is roughly 495. It was deliberately engineered down to the shortest sequence that still does the job, which is the only reason it can be a topical ingredient instead of an injectable one.

It barely fits. That’s the point.

    The dose

    There’s a difference between “contains SYN-AKE®” and “contains 4% SYN-AKE®.”

An ingredient can appear on a label at any amount. With expensive specialty peptides, that amount is usually the minimum required to print the name.

You’ve almost certainly bought a peptide serum before. You probably have no idea how much peptide was in it, because the brand didn’t tell you, because telling you wouldn’t have helped them.

Here’s what a trace amount actually means.

Imagine a recipe that calls for a cup of something and you put in a quarter teaspoon.

The ingredient is in the dish. You can list it on the menu. Nobody at the table is going to taste it.

That’s most peptide skincare. It’s legal, and it’s why you’ve probably bought a peptide serum before and felt nothing.

It happens because peptides are expensive.

A trace amount buys the name on the label at almost no cost. A real amount is one of the most expensive line items in the formula.

So most brands add trace amounts of a dozen marketable ingredients instead of a meaningful amount of one that works. You get a long, impressive-looking label and a product that does nothing.

    We went the other way.

DSM publishes formulation guidelines for SYN-AKE®. For skin care preparations, the recommended range is 1 to 4%.

    We use 4%.

The top of the manufacturer’s recommended range. The same concentration used in the ingredient’s own clinical testing.

Not a sprinkle. Not enough to make the claim. The full recommended maximum.

    Dose comparison

    Typical trace inclusion ≈0.5%

    Regenyx 4%

Concentration of SYN-AKE® supplied solution. The trace figure is illustrative of category practice, not a measurement of a named competitor.

Let’s be precise about what 4% means.

SYN-AKE® doesn’t arrive as a powder. It comes from the manufacturer as a glycerin-based solution, and 4% refers to that solution. Four percent of this bottle is not pure peptide. Nobody’s bottle is. It can’t be. That much peptide would melt your face.

Four percent of the supplied solution is the number that matters, because it’s the number the formulation guidelines use and the number the clinical work was run at. It’s the top of DSM’s recommended range.

We’re telling you this because we believe in transparency. We are using the absolute maximum amount of SYN-AKE® to achieve maximum results with no adverse effects. Most products containing this ingredient use a fraction of what we use.

Two peptides do this job. We picked the one with the head-to-head win.

There are two well-studied peptides for expression lines, and they work at opposite ends of the same junction.

Acetyl hexapeptide-8, sold as Argireline, works on the nerve side, interfering with the release of the signal before it crosses. It’s a legitimate ingredient with real published data behind it, and it’s in most of this category’s products for good reason.

SYN-AKE® works on the muscle side, at the receiving site itself.

Concentration isn’t the whole story. Where a peptide “acts” matters more than how much of it you use.

The cosmetic industry has tested that directly.

Forty-five people, twenty-eight days, twice daily, three groups. One group used 4% SYN-AKE®. One used 10% acetyl hexapeptide-8, the peptide in most wrinkle serums. One used a placebo.

The lower concentration won. Because it was the best peptide for the specific job of reducing wrinkles.

4% beat 10%. And not by a little.

Twenty-one percent smoother skin against four. Twenty percent less wrinkle depth against two.

Less than half the concentration, but roughly five times the result.

That’s why REFINE is the right choice for targeting expression lines.

    The formula

Target the fold first. Then improve the skin around it.

    SYN-AKE® is the engine.

REFINE starts with the target most wrinkle products miss: the repeated muscle movement that keeps folding the same skin into the same crease.

Then the rest of the formula works on the skin taking that fold: hydrating and plumping it now, helping it hold onto that moisture, and improving the appearance of fine lines, texture and elasticity over time.

    Surface Muscle

    01

    Reduce the pull

    02

    Plump the skin

    03

    Strengthen the barrier

Ten ingredients. Three jobs. One objective.

Make expression lines look softer, smoother, and less visible.

    01

    Interrupt · 4% SYN-AKE®

Reduce the pull behind the crease.

Repeated contraction keeps folding the same skin in the same place. 4% SYN-AKE® targets the signal involved in that repeated movement, helping reduce the repeated creasing behind the line.

    02

    Plump · HA + Glycerin

Hydrate and plump the skin around the line.

Dry, depleted skin makes a crease look sharper. Glycerin and sodium hyaluronate draw and hold water in the upper layers of the skin, helping the skin around the line look fuller, smoother and better hydrated.

    03

    Strengthen · Niacinamide

Strengthen the barrier and improve the skin over time.

Niacinamide helps strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier so it can hold onto hydration better. With continued use, it also helps improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, texture and elasticity.

So while SYN-AKE® targets the repeated movement behind the crease, the rest of the system helps improve the skin that crease is showing through.

Reduce the pull. Plump the skin. Strengthen the barrier.

Every ingredient. What it’s doing in there.

REFINE uses ten ingredients. The formula is deliberately focused: a three-part core system, supported by the ingredients needed to condition, preserve and give the serum its finished texture.

    The core system

    Sodium Hyaluronate

Hydrates and visibly plumps the skin around the line.

    Niacinamide Strengthen

Supports the moisture barrier and helps improve the appearance of fine lines, texture and elasticity over time.

    Supporting formula

    6

    Vitamin E Condition

    Tocopheryl Acetate

    Water Base

The purified base that carries the formula.

    Phenoxyethanol + Ethylhexylglycerin Preserve

Keeps the formula fresh and protected from microbial contamination.

    Guar Gum Texture

    Cyamopsis Tetragonoloba Gum

Gives the serum its smooth texture and helps it spread evenly.

    That’s the entire list. Ten.

No sprawling ingredient deck. No dozen trendy actives competing for space on the label. The formula stays focused on the job REFINE was built to do.

    No Fluff. No Filler.

    The data

    What the research actually shows.

Three different jobs. Three different timelines. And published research behind each one.

    01 · Interrupt · 4% SYN-AKE®

    28 days · twice daily

    In ingredient-level studies using 4% SYN-AKE®:

    15–20%

    shallower wrinkle-depth measurements

    21%

    smoother skin surface

    Up to

    52%

reduction in wrinkle depth among the best responders

    ~80%

    of participants showed measurable smoothing

REFINE uses the same 4% SYN-AKE® concentration and twice-daily use model.

This is the engine: reduce the repeated pull behind the crease.

Ingredient-level SYN-AKE® research using formulations containing 4% SYN-AKE®. Individual results vary.

    02 · Plump · Hyaluronic acid

    Immediately → 6 weeks

In a published six-week facial hyaluronic-acid serum study:

    134%

increase in hydration after the first application

    55%

    higher hydration at 6 weeks

    31%

    improvement in fine lines

    14%

    improvement in wrinkles

More hydrated skin looks fuller and smoother, helping fine lines and shallow wrinkles look softer and less sharply defined.

This is the fast surface effect: hydrate and plump the skin around the line.

Published 6-week facial hyaluronic-acid serum study, 40 subjects. Ingredient/formulation research.

    03 · Strengthen · Niacinamide

    12 weeks · twice daily

In randomized, double-blind facial research using 5% topical niacinamide:

    ~5%

reduction in total wrinkle line length vs. control

    Elasticity

    Significant improvement in skin elasticity

    Texture

    Significant improvement in skin texture

    Tone

    Significant improvement in uneven-looking tone

Niacinamide also supports the skin’s moisture barrier, helping skin retain hydration and become more resilient-looking over time.

This is the long game: improve fine lines while strengthening the skin around them over time.

Randomized, double-blind, split-face study in 50 women using 5% niacinamide twice daily for 12 weeks versus a control formulation. Ingredient-level research.

Different mechanisms. Different timelines. One reason they’re together: expression lines look better when you address both the repeated crease and the skin it’s showing through.

    The timeline

The science matters. The mirror matters more.

28 days is the on-ramp, not the finish line.

REFINE starts working on different parts of the problem at different speeds. Hydration can show up quickly. Expression-line changes build over the first month. And the skin around those lines can keep improving well beyond Day 28.

Here’s what to look for, and roughly when.

    Days 1–2

    The first thing you notice

    Hydration.

Glycerin and hyaluronic acid start pulling moisture into the upper layers of the skin from the first applications.

Skin can look fuller, smoother and less dry. Fine lines can look softer and less sharply defined.

This is the fast side of REFINE.

    Days 7–14

    The first expression-line change.

This is where the SYN-AKE® research begins showing early visible change.

Look at the lines that appear when your face moves: the forehead, the 11s and crow’s feet.

They won’t disappear overnight. What you’re looking for is the beginning of a softer, less pronounced crease.

This is why you took the Day 1 photo.

    Day 28

    The checkpoint.

By Day 28, the expression-line effect should be much easier to judge.

This is the primary checkpoint used in the 4% SYN-AKE® research, where researchers measured shallower wrinkle depth and smoother skin surface after twice-daily use.

Retake your Day 1 photos. Same light. Same angle. Face relaxed. Then fully expressive.

Don’t judge from memory. Compare the pictures.

Day 28 is the checkpoint. Not the finish line.

    Weeks 6–12

The whole area keeps getting better.

Now the longer-term side of the formula has had more time to work.

Continued hydration helps keep the skin looking fuller and smoother. Niacinamide supports the moisture barrier while progressively improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, texture and elasticity.

The result is bigger than what happens to one crease. That’s why Day 60 and Day 90 matter.

The whole area can look smoother, healthier and more refined.

    Beyond

    Maintenance with momentum.

Keep using REFINE and you’re doing two things at once.

You’re maintaining the expression-line effect you’ve built with SYN-AKE® while continuing to support the hydration, barrier and overall quality of the skin around those lines.

The expression-line effect is reversible by design, so consistency matters. At the same time, the rest of the formula keeps supporting the skin around the line.

It’s about maintaining the result while continuing to improve the skin around it.

28 days is the checkpoint. Give it 90 to see how far you can take it.

    1 bottle · 30 days

Reach the first major SYN-AKE® expression-line checkpoint.

    2 bottles · 60 days

Keep building momentum as hydration and the wrinkle reduction part of the formula continue to work.

    3 bottles · 90 days

Give the complete REFINE system time to work together: softer-looking expression lines, smoother-looking skin, and continued improvement in the area around them.

Day 28 is your first real checkpoint. Day 90 shows you how far consistent use can take you.

That’s why the 90-day option is the one we recommend.

You’ve got 90 days to decide either way.

    REFINE

SYN-AKE® works while you use it and fades gradually when you stop. This one is built for staying on it.

    The routine

Twice a day. That’s the whole protocol.

    01

Clean, dry skin. Morning and night.

    02

Apply to your expression zones. Forehead, between the brows, outer eye area, smile lines.

    03

Follow with moisturizer. Sunscreen in the morning, every morning.

Lightweight and water-based. Absorbs in under a minute, no film, no fragrance, nothing added for scent.

Zones, layering, and how to track results

It doesn’t have to stop at your face

The clinical data was measured on forehead, brow, and crow’s feet. Those are the zones to prioritize.

But the same three things are true of other skin that moves and gets sun. Neck lines and tech-neck rings come from constant flexion. The backs of your hands are thin, exposed, and show crepiness earlier than almost anywhere.

The mechanisms don’t change when you move down. The data just hasn’t been measured there.

If your neck or your hands are on your list, include them in your routine, you’ll be surprised by the results. Add a second pump, and expect a bottle to go faster than 30 days.

Face map of the expression zones: forehead lines, the 11s, crow's feet and smile lines

Where it goes in your routine

This is a lightweight water-based serum, so it goes on early. Clean skin, then this, then anything heavier.

It works alongside retinol, vitamin C, moisturizer, and sunscreen. Nothing in this formula conflicts with them.

    Sits under makeup without pilling.

External use only. Avoid direct contact with the eye.

    Take the before photo. Today.

Nobody remembers what their forehead looked like four weeks ago. Everybody thinks they will.

    Before your first application:

    • Good, even light. Same spot every time, ideally a window in daylight.
    • Face relaxed and neutral.
    • Then brows fully raised.
    • Then a full squint and a real smile.

This is the only way to actually see a change that happens gradually. It’s also the difference between judging the product and guessing at it.

    Day 28 · The checkpoint

Take the same photos again. Same light. Same angle. Same expressions.

This is the primary SYN-AKE® expression-line checkpoint. Put Day 1 and Day 28 side by side and look for the difference.

Don’t judge from memory. Compare the pictures.

    Day 60 · Keep building

By now, you’ve had another full month beyond the primary expression-line checkpoint.

Compare Day 60 to Day 1. Look at the expression lines, but also look at the skin around them as hydration and the longer-term side of the formula continue to build.

Day 90 · See how far you’ve come

Put Day 1 and Day 90 side by side.

By now you’ve given the complete formula time to work across its different timelines: immediate hydration, the earlier SYN-AKE® expression-line effect, and the longer-term skin benefits of continued use.

You don’t wait 90 days for REFINE to start working. You give it 90 days to see how far you can take it.

    The questions we get

    Straight answers.

Is there snake venom in this?

No. No venom, no toxin, no animal-derived material. SYN-AKE® is a fully synthetic peptide modeled on one short sequence from a venom peptide. Nothing else from the venom was used or recreated.

    Will my face look frozen?

No. This is a topical cosmetic serum applied to the surface of your skin, not a medical procedure.

Your expressions don’t change. Nothing is paralyzed. No plastic face. What changes, is how deep a crease your expressions leave behind.

Is it safe for sensitive skin?

Ten ingredients, no fragrance, no essential oils, no dye. That’s a short list of things to react to, which is one of the advantages of a minimal formula.

Occasional mild, transient tingling has been reported with SYN-AKE® formulas. If you’re reactive or allergy-prone, patch test on a small area first.

Can I use it around my eyes?

Apply to the outer eye area and crow’s feet. Avoid direct contact with the eye itself. If it gets in your eye, rinse thoroughly.

Can I use REFINE with retinol or vitamin C?

Yes. REFINE can be used alongside retinol, vitamin C, moisturizer and other common skincare products.

Apply REFINE to clean, dry skin, let it absorb, then continue with the rest of your routine.

Will REFINE help keep my expression lines from getting deeper?

Yes. Expression lines deepen through repeated creasing. SYN-AKE® helps reduce the repeated pull behind that crease, so consistent use can help soften the lines you have while reducing the repeated creasing that can make them deeper over time.

Improve the line you see today. Help keep it from becoming a deeper crease tomorrow.

How quickly should I see results?

You don’t have to wait 90 days to start seeing a difference.

The hydration side of REFINE begins working from the first applications, helping skin look fuller, smoother and less dry.

SYN-AKE® research begins showing early visible expression-line changes around Days 7–14, with Day 28 as the primary expression-line checkpoint.

From there, continued hydration and niacinamide give the skin around those lines more time to improve through Days 60 and 90.

Day 28 is the checkpoint. Give it 90 to see how far you can take it.

What happens if I stop using it?

Yes, continued use matters if you want to maintain the SYN-AKE® expression-line effect.

The effect is reversible, so consistent use matters. Continued use also gives the hydration and skin-support side of the formula more time to keep working.

    Think maintenance with momentum.

    Does this work for men?

Yes. The mechanism has nothing to do with gender. Men often have deeper forehead lines and stronger 11s, partly from thicker skin and partly from decades of less sun protection, and those are the two zones this was built for.

How long does a bottle last?

One bottle is 15 mL / 0.5 fl oz, approximately a 30-day supply when REFINE is used as directed, morning and night.

That’s why the 1-, 2- and 3-bottle options correspond to approximately 30, 60 and 90 days of use.

How should I store it, and how long is it good for?

Room temperature, out of direct sunlight. No refrigeration needed. Six months once opened, as indicated on the carton.

    How long does shipping take?

2 to 3 business days within the US. Ships from Texas.

    What exactly is SYN-AKE®?

A synthetic peptide developed by Pentapharm in Switzerland and now produced by DSM. It’s modeled on one sequence from Waglerin-1, a peptide found in temple viper venom. INCI name: Dipeptide Diaminobutyroyl Benzylamide Diacetate.

Where is it made, and do you test on animals?

Assembled in the USA. Cruelty free. No animal testing.

    Is it vegan?

Yes. Regenyx Refine is a vegan formula.

How do I reach a human?

We work Monday through Friday, 9 to 5 Central Time, and you can reach us at support@regenyx.life.

    About the panel

The REFINE Consumer Panel is an ongoing consumer perception study of people using the finished REFINE formula. Participants use REFINE twice daily and complete short, standardized questionnaires at Day 28, Day 60, and Day 90.

Results shown here are participants’ self-reported perceptions, not instrument-measured clinical outcomes. Participant counts reflect completed responses at each checkpoint. Participants included verified REFINE customers and product testers who received REFINE at no cost.

Because the panel remains open to eligible REFINE users, participant counts and reported results may be updated as additional participants complete their checkpoints.

Measured by instrument, not by survey.

    • 21% reduction in surface roughness
    • 15–20% reduction in wrinkle-depth parameters
    • Measurable smoothing in roughly 80% of participants
    • Measurable wrinkle-depth reduction in roughly 70 to 75%

A stable, long-established topical antioxidant, used here for skin conditioning and antioxidant support. It is a supporting ingredient in this formula, not a hero active, and this page doesn’t claim otherwise. Zinc oxide is a supporting mineral and formulation component; it is not a sunscreen and we make no UV claim for it.

    How to read these numbers.

These are ingredient-level results. They come from studies of formulations containing these ingredients, at these concentrations, on these endpoints. They are not clinical trials of this finished product, and most brands citing the same figures don’t draw that distinction.

    Three specific limitations worth knowing.

The SYN-AKE® data comes from a small manufacturer-run study. It is double-blind and instrument-measured, which is more than most cosmetic ingredient data.

The hydration, barrier and niacinamide data comes from similar formulations at similar concentrations, not identical ones.

The 52% figure is a best-responder result. Averages are lower, and averages are what most people should expect.

We use 4% SYN-AKE® because that’s the concentration the research was run at. If we used less, the research wouldn’t be ours to point to.

We don’t yet have a finished-product clinical on this formula. When we do, it will be on this page, and it will be labeled as clearly as everything above.

    Science overview

    Science Overview · V3.1

Why a 10-ingredient 4% SYN-AKE® system can visibly refine expression lines in weeks, and keep building skin quality after that.

The problem: lines your face keeps rehearsing

Every time you raise your brows, squint at a screen, or smile for a photo, the same facial muscles pull the same tracks into your skin. Over time, those practice lines can become more visible, even when your face is at rest.

    • Horizontal forehead lines
    • Vertical 11 lines between the brows
    • Crow’s feet at the outer corners of the eyes
    • Early expression-related lines

A basic moisturizer can soften dryness. But hydration alone does not address the repeated movement that keeps creasing the same lines in the first place.

REFINE is designed as the middle path: a clear, lightweight, 10-ingredient daily serum that targets expression lines where they show up. No needles. No frozen-expression goal.

    One focus: dynamic expression lines

REFINE is not a generic anti-aging cocktail. It is built around one specific job: visibly refine movement-driven wrinkles on the forehead, the 11s and crow’s feet, with a routine you can actually live with.

The core active is SYN-AKE®, a small neuromodulating peptide modeled on a neuromuscular signaling sequence found in temple viper venom. In laboratory and supplier research it interacts with the muscular nicotinic acetylcholine receptor, one of the receptors involved when nerves signal facial muscles to contract.

REFINE uses SYN-AKE® at 4%, the maximum supplier-recommended use level and the same concentration used in the best-known 28-day studies on crow’s feet and forehead wrinkles.

What neuromodulation means for your skin

Think of a facial muscle’s “contract now” message like a key opening a door. Your nerve releases acetylcholine, the key, which fits into a receptor on the muscle, the lock, and signals the muscle to contract.

SYN-AKE® temporarily occupies part of that lock. In laboratory systems, that means fewer “contract now” messages get through at full strength.

Your face still moves, smiles and makes expressions. It just does not have to crease the same lines as intensely, over and over.

Every expression is a repetition. REFINE’s 4% SYN-AKE® system helps soften that repeated crease-making action, so the lines you keep creating all day are not being pressed as deeply into the skin while you use it.

REFINE does more than temporarily blur existing lines. It is daily maintenance for the expression lines your face keeps rehearsing.

    What the research shows

    SYN-AKE® 4%: movement-driven wrinkles

In manufacturer-run studies of creams with 4% SYN-AKE®, applied twice daily for 28 days, researchers measured dynamic wrinkles on crow’s feet and forehead. They saw:

    • Up to 52% reduction in measured wrinkle depth in the best responders
    • About 21% smoother skin surface and 15 to 20% shallower wrinkle-depth parameters on average
    • Smoothing in approximately 80% of volunteers, and wrinkle-depth reduction in roughly 70 to 75%
    • Early change beginning around days 7 to 14, with the central evaluation point at four weeks

REFINE is built around the same 4% SYN-AKE® concentration and twice-daily, 28-day use model as these ingredient studies.

Hyaluronic acid: hydration that visibly softens fine lines

In a six-week study of a facial hyaluronic acid serum, skin hydration increased 134% immediately after application. By week six, participants saw approximately 31% improvement in fine lines and approximately 14% improvement in wrinkles.

Hyaluronic acid helps more than skin feel hydrated. With regular use, it helps fine lines and shallow wrinkles look less dry, less collapsed and more smoothed out.

    Niacinamide: the long-game ingredient

Niacinamide is what gives REFINE more to offer after the first expression-line checkpoint.

In a double-blind, randomized split-face study of 50 women with facial photoaging, twice-daily topical 5% niacinamide improved the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, texture, elasticity, hyperpigmented spots, red blotchiness and sallowness over 12 weeks.

It also supports the skin barrier. Topical nicotinamide has been associated with increased synthesis of ceramides, free fatty acids and cholesterol in the stratum corneum, together with lower water loss through the skin surface in dry skin.

The simple version: glycerin and hyaluronic acid help put hydration into the surface; niacinamide helps the skin hold on to it. Over continued use, it adds a smoother-looking, more even, more elastic, more resilient-looking skin-quality story.

    Glycerin: hydration that stays comfortable

Glycerin is a well-studied humectant that helps draw and hold water in the outer layers of skin. Human studies show faster barrier recovery after skin challenge, with higher hydration and lower water loss than comparison formulas.

That matters in constantly moving areas such as the forehead and eye contour: glycerin helps the surface stay more comfortable, supple and less rough-looking while the rest of the routine does its work.

    Four layers. One expression-line system.

A wrinkle does not show up for only one reason. It reflects repeated movement, the way skin folds at the surface, how hydrated that surface is, and how resilient the surrounding skin looks. REFINE is built to support all four, not by piling on ingredients, but by giving every ingredient a defined job.

    LayerIngredientsWhat it does

10 ingredients. One system. Every ingredient has a job. SYN-AKE® centers the routine on expression lines. Glycerin and hyaluronic acid soften the surface. Niacinamide helps skin retain hydration and develop a more resilient-looking barrier over time. The supporting system makes it all easy to use, morning and night.

    28 days is the on-ramp

REFINE is designed to build in layers. The first four weeks are the expression-line proof point; the weeks after that are where the rest of the system keeps earning its place.

Days 1 to 2 · my skin looks less dry and drawn

    • Glycerin and hyaluronic acid begin increasing surface hydration quickly. In the hyaluronic acid study, hydration more than doubled immediately after application.
    • Fine lines, especially around the eyes, can look less chalky, less sharply carved and more softened at the surface.
    • Skin feels more supple, and makeup can apply more smoothly.

Days 7 to 14 · my moving lines are not as intense

    • In 4% SYN-AKE® research, early changes in dynamic crow’s-feet and forehead lines were observed around the first one to two weeks.
    • At the same time, glycerin, hyaluronic acid and niacinamide support a more hydrated, comfortable surface and a stronger moisture-retention routine.

Day 28 · my forehead, 11s and crow’s feet look different in photos

    • In 28-day trials with 4% SYN-AKE®, dynamic-wrinkle depth and roughness improved by approximately 20% on average, with some participants reaching up to 52% depth reduction.
    • The hydration system continues supporting smoother, more plump-looking skin while niacinamide reinforces moisture retention and its longer-horizon skin-quality role.

Day 28 is your expression-line checkpoint. Compare your forehead lines, the 11s and crow’s feet at rest and in motion in the same light. This is when the difference is easiest to judge side by side.

Weeks 6 to 12 · the whole area looks better

    • Hyaluronic acid studies show hydration and line appearance still improving at week six, including 31% improvement in fine lines and 14% improvement in wrinkles in one facial-serum study.
    • Controlled niacinamide research showed visible improvements in fine lines and wrinkles, texture, elasticity, tone, blotchiness and sallowness over 8 to 12 weeks.
    • Continued use is expected to maintain the routine’s hydration, barrier and expression-line-focused cosmetic support. As with topical neuromodulating peptides, the expression-line benefit is maintained through consistent use rather than becoming permanent.

Think of the first 28 days as your on-ramp. After that, REFINE becomes maintenance with momentum: expression lines stay the focus, while the skin around them keeps looking smoother, more hydrated, more even and more resilient.

    The science behind the system

REFINE is built around the ingredient systems cited throughout this overview: 4% SYN-AKE® for expression-line-focused care; glycerin and sodium hyaluronate for hydration and surface refinement; niacinamide for barrier and longer-horizon visible skin-quality support; and a purposeful supporting formula architecture for a clear, lightweight serum experience.

    Evidence status

The published figures shown here come from the specific ingredient systems studied. REFINE is formulated around those evidence-backed ingredients, the 4% SYN-AKE® use level and complementary daily-use functions. These are not finished-product clinical outcomes for REFINE, and the 52% figure is a best-responder result; averages are lower, and averages are what most people should expect.

REFINE is a cosmetic serum. It does not paralyze muscles, block nerve impulses at a therapeutic level, or treat any medical condition. Zinc oxide is a supporting formulation component here, not a sunscreen: broad-spectrum SPF remains the appropriate daytime step.

4% SYN-AKE® peptide, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and glycerin for targeted, stacking expression-line refinement.

    Abstract

REGENYX REFINE is a clear, lightweight, leave-on cosmetic serum formulated to visibly refine dynamic facial wrinkles: the lines formed by everyday expressions such as squinting, smiling and raising the brows. It combines 4% SYN-AKE®, the maximum supplier-recommended use level and the concentration used in the referenced 28-day ingredient studies, with a meaningful proprietary level of niacinamide, clinically characterized humectants (glycerin and sodium hyaluronate), tocopheryl acetate and a purposeful supporting formula system.

In manufacturer-run clinical studies, a cream containing 4% SYN-AKE® applied twice daily for 28 days produced measurable reductions in dynamic wrinkle parameters on crow’s feet and forehead: mean skin roughness (Ra) decreased by about 21%, mean wrinkle-depth parameters (Rz, Rt) decreased by 15 to 20%, and individual forehead wrinkle-depth reductions reached up to 52% in the best responders. Smoothing effects were detected in approximately 80% of volunteers, and wrinkle-depth reductions in roughly 70 to 75%, with early visible changes emerging after one to two weeks of consistent use.

Clinical trials of topical hyaluronic acid serums report an immediate 134% increase in hydration, approximately 55% higher hydration at six weeks, and improvements of approximately 31% in fine lines and 14% in wrinkles after six weeks of daily use. Glycerin has repeatedly been shown to improve hydration and support barrier recovery, including lower transepidermal water loss (TEWL) in challenged skin. Controlled niacinamide research supports improvements in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, elasticity, texture, uneven tone, blotchiness and sallowness, while barrier studies associate topical nicotinamide with increased synthesis of key stratum-corneum lipids and lower TEWL.

Address the visible impact of repeated expression, hydrate the surface that displays those lines, support the barrier that retains hydration, and promote progressively smoother, more even, more resilient-looking skin with continued use.

Glycerin and sodium hyaluronate deliver hydration at the surface; niacinamide supports the barrier that helps retain it while contributing longer-horizon visible skin-quality benefits. Together, the ten ingredients form one intentional, daily expression-line system.

1 · Problem and context: dynamic lines in a cosmetic gap

Dynamic expression lines, forehead creases, glabellar 11 lines and crow’s feet, form along the same skin folds every time underlying facial muscles contract to raise the brows, squint or smile. Over years of repeated movement, these dynamic lines can imprint into the skin and become more visible even at rest.

Traditional cosmetic options tend to address only part of this picture:

    • Generic moisturizers and broad multi-peptide blends may improve hydration and texture, but they are not necessarily designed around the biology of movement-associated expression lines and often do not disclose active concentrations.
    • Injectable neuromodulators require a medical procedure and produce pharmacological chemodenervation of target muscles; that is categorically different from cosmetic topical care.

REFINE is designed for the cosmetic space between those categories: a non-injectable, daily expression-line serum centered on a maximum-use-level neuromodulating peptide, then supported by hydration, barrier, skin-quality and conditioning ingredients.

    2 · Evidence snapshot

    2.1 SYN-AKE® 4%: neuromodulating peptide

Manufacturer-run ingredient studies of creams containing 4% SYN-AKE®, applied twice daily for 28 days to crow’s feet and forehead, reported:

    • Up to 52% reduction in measured forehead wrinkle depth in best responders after four weeks.
    • Approximately 21% reduction in surface roughness (Ra) and 15 to 20% reduction in wrinkle-depth parameters (Rz, Rt).
    • Measurable smoothing in roughly 80% of participants and measurable wrinkle-depth reduction in approximately 70 to 75%.
    • Early softening in some users from approximately day 7 to 14, with clearer and more consistent improvements by day 28.
    • A twice-daily, 28-day regimen at 4% SYN-AKE®, the same concentration and use pattern used for REFINE.

2.2 Niacinamide: barrier, visible aging and skin quality

    • In a double-blind, randomized, split-face study of 50 women with facial photoaging, 5% niacinamide used twice daily for 12 weeks significantly improved fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmented spots, red blotchiness, yellowing or sallowness, texture and measured elasticity compared with vehicle.
    • In keratinocyte and dry-skin research, nicotinamide increased synthesis of ceramides, free fatty acids and cholesterol, increased key stratum-corneum lipids after topical use, and reduced TEWL.
    • Controlled clinical work also found decreased hyperpigmentation and increased skin lightness after four weeks of topical niacinamide use; mechanistic work indicates that niacinamide can reversibly reduce melanosome transfer to keratinocytes.
    • Two randomized controlled 35-day studies of niacinamide and glycerin moisturizers found rapid and prolonged improvements in cosmetic xerosis and stratum-corneum integrity.

REFINE includes niacinamide as a major secondary active: a purposeful barrier and skin-quality complement to its expression-line peptide system.

2.3 Hydration and line appearance: sodium hyaluronate and glycerin

Clinical research on topical hyaluronic acid serums and multi-weight hyaluronic acid systems reports up to a 134% immediate increase in skin hydration by corneometry, approximately 55% higher hydration than baseline after six weeks of daily use, and approximately 31% improvement in fine lines and 14% improvement in wrinkles in a facial-serum study after six weeks.

Glycerin studies in normal and compromised skin show faster barrier recovery, higher hydration and lower TEWL following tape stripping or surfactant challenge compared with vehicle controls. In REFINE, glycerin is especially relevant because it is both a core humectant in the water-based system and part of the commercial SYN-AKE® carrier system.

2.4 Why REFINE is not a generic peptide serum

REFINE is organized around one documented hero concentration, 4% SYN-AKE®, rather than a broad, unquantified list of peptide names. Its ten ingredients were selected for distinct, complementary jobs: the peptide supplies the expression-line rationale; niacinamide supports barrier lipids, moisture retention and progressively improved visible skin quality; glycerin and sodium hyaluronate supply immediate hydration and line-softening support; tocopheryl acetate contributes skin-conditioning and antioxidant support; and zinc oxide with the functional base provides the vehicle, preservation and texture system that make the serum clear, lightweight, stable and practical for twice-daily use.

    3 · Product overview

    3.1 Identity and intended use

REGENYX REFINE is a clear, lightweight, fast-spreading cosmetic, leave-on peptide expression-line serum for adults who want to visibly soften and refine lines associated with everyday facial movement, particularly forehead expression lines, glabellar 11 lines, crow’s feet (lateral canthal lines), and smile-related expression lines and early perioral etching.

Directions are to apply 1 to 2 pumps to clean, dry facial skin, neck and other selected expression-prone areas morning and evening, then allow the product to absorb. Broad-spectrum sunscreen remains appropriate as the final daytime step in a complete routine.

    3.2 Current production INCI

Water, Glycerin, Niacinamide, Dipeptide Diaminobutyroyl Benzylamide Diacetate, Zinc Oxide, Tocopheryl Acetate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Cyamopsis Tetragonoloba (Guar) Gum.

    3.3 Functional ingredient hierarchy

6 · Integrity and textureWater, phenoxyethanol, ethylhexylglycerin, guar gumAqueous vehicle, preservation, serum consistency and a clear, lightweight, spreadable application experience.

    3.4 Purposeful formula architecture

REFINE is designed for complementary action. Each ingredient supports a different part of the visible expression-line picture rather than attempting to make every ingredient do the same thing. SYN-AKE® establishes the expression-line-specific focus by addressing the visible impact of repeated facial movement. Glycerin and sodium hyaluronate support immediate hydration and a smoother, more supple-looking surface. Niacinamide supports the lipid-rich barrier that helps retain hydration while contributing longer-horizon rationale for the appearance of improved texture, elasticity, fine lines and tone. Tocopheryl acetate adds stable conditioning and antioxidant support. Zinc oxide, guar gum, the aqueous vehicle and the preservation system provide the physical structure, clarity, spread, stability and everyday usability required for consistent application.

    4 · Mechanistic rationale

    4.1 Dynamic and static wrinkles

Dynamic expression wrinkles arise when underlying facial muscles repeatedly contract, such as when raising the brows, smiling or squinting. Over time, repeated folding can contribute to lines that persist at rest. Static lines also reflect broader changes in skin structure, hydration, photoexposure and tissue support. Neuromodulating cosmetic peptides are most relevant to the dynamic component; hydration, barrier support and broader skin-quality ingredients instead support the texture, moisture status and visible condition of the skin overlying expression-prone areas.

    4.2 SYN-AKE®: expression-line neuromodulation

SYN-AKE® (INCI: Dipeptide Diaminobutyroyl Benzylamide Diacetate) is a short synthetic peptide designed around functional motifs of Waglerin-1, a peptide from Tropidolaemus wagleri venom that antagonizes the adult muscle-type nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (mnAChR).

In ingredient-level laboratory and supplier documentation, SYN-AKE® is described as a reversible competitive antagonist at the muscular nicotinic acetylcholine receptor. It competes with acetylcholine at the receptor, limits ion-channel activation and sodium influx, and reduces the signaling associated with muscle-cell depolarization and contraction.

This is a post-synaptic, muscle-side rationale, distinct from peptides commonly described as pre-synaptic acetylcholine-release modifiers. REFINE uses this mechanism as a biologically plausible cosmetic explanation for the dynamic-wrinkle improvements observed in ingredient-level studies.

    4.3 Niacinamide: the barrier-to-visible-aging bridge

Niacinamide is the amide form of vitamin B3 and a precursor in the NAD+ coenzyme family, which is involved in cellular energy metabolism and stress-response biology. Its central cosmetic relevance in REFINE is a connected set of functions:

    • Barrier-lipid synthesis: topical nicotinamide supports synthesis of ceramides, free fatty acids, cholesterol and related stratum-corneum lipids, helping reduce water loss and improve barrier quality.
    • Moisture-retention support: glycerin and sodium hyaluronate provide hydration at the surface; niacinamide supports the barrier that helps retain that hydration.
    • Visible aging support: 5% topical niacinamide improved fine lines and wrinkles, elasticity, texture, blotchiness, sallowness and uneven pigmentation in a 12-week controlled facial study.
    • Tone support: niacinamide can reduce melanosome transfer in cell models and has shown clinical improvement in hyperpigmentation and skin lightness.

For REFINE, SYN-AKE® is directed at the appearance of movement-associated folding; niacinamide supports the hydrated, resilient-looking, smoother and more even surface through which those lines appear. That is the formula’s most important complementary relationship.

    4.4 Emerging cellular-resilience context

Mechanistic research suggests that nicotinamide can preserve energy metabolism under UVB and oxidative stress, enhance repair of UV-induced photolesions in keratinocytes and ex vivo skin, reduce stress-induced inflammatory mediators, and modulate keratinocyte proliferation, differentiation and premature-senescence markers.

A 2024 study of a formula containing 6% niacinamide plus high- and intermediate-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid reported improvements in fine lines, wrinkles, smoothness, homogeneity and radiance over two months, together with molecular findings the authors described as consistent with senomorphic activity. That study evaluated a different multi-ingredient formula, so REFINE does not borrow its precise clinical numbers or describe itself as senomorphic. The relevance is the broader formulation rationale.

    4.5 Integrated formula logic

    1. Expression-line targeting: 4% SYN-AKE® supplies the formula’s targeted neuromodulating peptide rationale for movement-associated lines.
    2. Immediate hydration and surface refinement: glycerin and sodium hyaluronate help increase water content and improve the look and feel of dry, fine-lined skin.
    3. Barrier and progressive skin quality: niacinamide supports barrier lipids, moisture retention, elasticity, texture, evenness and the visible appearance of fine lines with consistent use.
    4. Conditioning and formula support: tocopheryl acetate, zinc oxide, guar gum and the preservation system support skin conditioning, physical structure, stability and the clear, lightweight, spreadable use experience.

    5 · Ingredient-level efficacy

    5.1 SYN-AKE® at 4%: dynamic-wrinkle outcomes

The key data for REFINE are manufacturer-run clinical and profilometric studies of creams containing 4% SYN-AKE® used twice daily for 28 days. After 28 days, profilometry reported approximately 21% lower surface roughness (Ra), 15 to 20% lower wrinkle-depth parameters (Rz and Rt), and up to 52% reduction in maximum forehead wrinkle depth among best responders. Approximately 80% of participants showed measurable smoothing, and approximately 70 to 75% showed measurable wrinkle-depth reduction. Supplier-reported observations indicate that early subjective or instrumental change can emerge around days 7 to 14, with day 28 serving as the central evaluation point.

5.2 Niacinamide: progressive visible skin-quality outcomes

    • Fine lines, wrinkles, texture and elasticity: the 12-week 5% randomized, double-blind split-face study found significant improvement versus vehicle across these measures in women with facial photoaging.
    • Tone and appearance: the same body of work found improvements in hyperpigmented spots, red blotchiness and skin yellowing or sallowness. Separate controlled work reported significantly reduced hyperpigmentation and greater skin lightness after four weeks.
    • Barrier support: nicotinamide increased key epidermal lipid synthesis and reduced TEWL in dry skin.
    • Niacinamide and glycerin: randomized controlled moisturizer studies found this pairing improved stratum-corneum integrity and cosmetic xerosis over 35 days.

5.3 Sodium hyaluronate: hydration and visible line softening

In one facial-serum study involving 40 subjects, regular application produced a 134% immediate hydration increase, 55% higher hydration after six weeks, and approximately 31% and 14% improvements in fine lines and wrinkles respectively. Multi-weight hyaluronic acid studies likewise report improvement in hydration, smoothness and fine-line appearance over four to eight weeks with good tolerability.

5.4 Glycerin: barrier resilience and comfort

In tape-stripping and surfactant-challenge models, glycerin-containing creams produced faster barrier recovery, lower TEWL and higher corneometry values than vehicle controls over several days. In practical cosmetic terms, this supports smoother-feeling skin, less visible roughness, greater suppleness and better day-to-day comfort, particularly relevant to thin, highly mobile areas such as the forehead and eye contour.

5.5 Tocopheryl acetate: stable vitamin E support

Tocopheryl acetate is a stable vitamin E derivative used in cosmetic formulations for skin conditioning and antioxidant support. Cosmetic Ingredient Review assessments have concluded tocopherols and tocotrienols are safe as used in cosmetics. It is positioned as a supporting component of REFINE’s overall skin-conditioning environment rather than as a principal efficacy hero.

5.6 Zinc oxide: supporting formulation component

Zinc oxide is a multifunctional mineral used in cosmetics for functions that can include bulking, color and opacity, skin protection and UV absorption depending on its grade, concentration and formulation context. REFINE’s shake-well direction is consistent with a water-based serum containing one or more dispersed components. It supports the formula’s physical architecture and does not need to be a central consumer-benefit story. REFINE is a daily cosmetic serum; broad-spectrum sunscreen remains the appropriate dedicated daytime UV-protection step.

    6 · REFINE wrinkle-refinement timeline

    PhaseWhat the evidence supports
First application to 24 hoursGlycerin and sodium hyaluronate begin drawing and retaining water in the stratum corneum; in an HA-serum study hydration more than doubled immediately after application. Hydrated skin can look more supple, so fine lines may appear less sharply defined.
Days 7 to 144% SYN-AKE® ingredient studies reported early subjective and instrumental changes, especially in crow’s-feet and forehead lines, alongside barrier-supporting routine effects from glycerin and niacinamide.
Weeks 3 to 4At approximately 28 days of twice-daily use, 4% SYN-AKE® study creams demonstrated mean improvement in dynamic-wrinkle parameters of approximately 15 to 21%, with up to 52% depth reduction in best responders.
Weeks 6 to 12Extended HA-serum use has been associated with 31% improvement in fine lines and 14% improvement in wrinkles at week six; controlled 5% niacinamide studies documented visible aging, texture, tone and elasticity outcomes most clearly by 8 to 12 weeks.
Continued useNeuromodulating-peptide benefits are reversible rather than permanently structural; the appearance benefit may gradually diminish after discontinuation, so consistent use maintains the result.

For this reason, 28 days is an evidence-linked first evaluation point, not the finish line. The formula’s hydration, barrier and visible skin-quality rationale continues beyond that point.

    7 · Safety profile

    7.1 Peptide safety framework

Contemporary cosmetic-peptide safety assessment relies on weight-of-evidence evaluation, including sequence and structure assessment, in silico screening, cytotoxicity and genotoxicity data, local irritation and sensitization assessment, exposure modeling and post-market monitoring. Available evidence distinguishes between ingredient data, raw-material hazard documentation and finished-product testing.

    7.2 SYN-AKE® ingredient safety

    • No mutagenicity in reported Ames testing and no material cytotoxicity at relevant cosmetic test concentrations in standard supplier-reported data.
    • Human patch-test experience with SYN-AKE®-containing creams at 3 to 4% active reporting no significant irritation or sensitization in most volunteers; occasional mild, transient tingling or tightness has been described.
    • Ingredient and database reviews generally characterize topical SYN-AKE® as low hazard at cosmetic use levels, with no established evidence of systemic neuromuscular toxicity from intended topical use.

    7.3 Niacinamide and supporting-ingredient context

Topical niacinamide is generally well tolerated in clinical cosmetic studies, including the 5% 12-week split-face facial study. Glycerin, sodium hyaluronate, tocopheryl acetate and the phenoxyethanol and ethylhexylglycerin preservation system have long histories of cosmetic use, while each individual’s skin sensitivity can vary.

    7.4 Use guidance

    • Apply only to intact, healthy skin; avoid areas that are broken, actively irritated or inflamed.
    • Avoid direct contact with the eyes; rinse thoroughly with water if contact occurs.
    • People with highly reactive or allergy-prone skin should perform a patch test before regular use.
    • Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals should consult an appropriate healthcare professional before use, because long-term systemic data on topical neuromodulating cosmetic peptides in these populations are limited.

8 · Study context and cosmetic positioning

The clinical figures in this paper are attributed to the specific ingredient systems studied. REFINE was formulated around those evidence-backed ingredients, the 4% SYN-AKE® use level and twice-daily application model, and complementary functions to create one daily expression-line routine. SYN-AKE® studies inform its dynamic expression-line focus; niacinamide studies inform its barrier and progressive skin-quality support; and hyaluronic acid and glycerin research informs its hydration and visible surface-refinement layer.

REFINE is a cosmetic expression-line serum designed to improve the visible appearance of dynamic expression lines and fine lines, while hydrating, smoothing and conditioning skin in expression-prone areas. It is a topical, non-injectable daily treatment and should be used alongside a complete skincare routine, including broad-spectrum sunscreen during the day.

9 · Summary and practical use

    • Immediately: glycerin and sodium hyaluronate support more hydrated, smoother-feeling skin, with fine lines appearing less dry and sharply defined.
    • Within 1 to 2 weeks: 4% SYN-AKE® ingredient-study observations showed early softening of crow’s-feet and forehead expression lines in some participants using a twice-daily formula.
    • Around 4 weeks: 4% SYN-AKE® clinical ingredient data showed measurable improvement in dynamic-wrinkle parameters; this is the central expression-line evaluation point for the REFINE routine.
    • Across 6 to 12 weeks: continued hydration, barrier support and niacinamide’s established visible-aging rationale provide the basis for keeping REFINE in a consistent routine after the initial 28-day period.

REFINE is best used as a 28-day expression-line treatment trial and a continuing skin-quality routine: apply 1 to 2 pumps morning and evening to clean, dry skin, focus on forehead, glabella and crow’s-feet areas, photograph baseline and four-week results under comparable conditions, and continue as desired to maintain and layer benefits.

    Evidence boundaries

Every figure in this paper is an ingredient-level or formulation-level result from the studies cited in the source document. None of them is a finished-product clinical outcome for REFINE. The 52% wrinkle-depth figure is a best-responder result; group averages are lower.

REFINE makes cosmetic appearance claims only. It is not a drug, it does not chemically denervate muscle, and zinc oxide in this formula is a supporting formulation component, not a sunscreen active.
